Studies are of course vital, but on it's own it is not enough, as we are finding out in the UK. Too many music and art subjects have been squeezed out of school curriculums in favour of vocational subjects. This is a mistake that is hopefully going to be corrected. The ability to express yourself in whatever medium you choose is, I believe, essential in making a complete person.
